Sex In A Cold Climate

OSLO

Almost one-third of men aged 18 to 20 would have sex with children, according to a Norwegian survey.

More than 700 young men in Oslo were asked:

"Would you have sex with a child if you were certain that you would not get caught or punished?".

A total of 28.6 percent said they would.

The poll also revealed that 5.9 per cent of respondents said they had had sex with a child who was under 12 years of age, and 19.1 per cent said they had intercourse with children in the 13-14 age group.

The study, conducted by the Norwegian Institute for Adolescence, Welfare and Ageing (NOVA), was commissioned in response to the growing number of sexual assaults by young men in the Norwegian capital.

The study also showed that the young men who approved of sex with children also looked lightly on rape.

"There is a certain connection between those who do not exclude having sex with children and those who accept rape", NOVA researcher Svein Mossige said.

A total of 7 per cent of those surveyed admitted they had forced others into sexual acts.
