Snaps of naked girls banned.

A Book containing 300 photographs of naked and partly clad girls has been banned as objectionable by the Film and Literature Board of Review. Images in the book, Holiday Snapshots, by recognised photographer David Hamilton, were predominantly of pre-pubescent girls.

All photographs were accompanied by captions, some being quotations from famous poets used entirely out of context the board said. It noted that the book had "some artistic merit" and contained some quality images, but ruled the book objectionable under the Films, Videos and Publications Classification Act because it "tended to promote or support the exploitation of children and young persons for sexual purposes".
