... James Cantor, Ray Blanchard, Kenneth Zucker, the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and the Archives of Sexual Behavior on age at puberty and age in the Tanner stadiums

This open letter was sent by letter and e-mail to the five persons / organizations on July 20th 2019 and will be sent in addition to the information by e-mail to sexologists publishing about "pedophilia".

Hello,

For many years, you have systematically spread false information about the age at the onset of puberty. As evidenced below, the puberty of girls begins several years before the age information that you give. Your false age ratings cause people to receive a "pedophilia" diagnosis, even though these people are not "pedophilic" according to your own "pedophilia" definition of the desire of pre-pubertals.

False (and "right") "pedophilia" and "hebephilia" diagnoses destroy human lives, and often rob people of their lifelong freedom. I urge you all to immediately publicly retract your false age details about the onset of puberty! The misappropriation of "pedophilia" and "hebephilia" diagnoses needs to end immediately!

In addition, I urge the American Psychiatric Association also to immediately withdraw their false "pedophilia" definition, with the grotesquely and deliberately wrong age (see below).

Each one of you can write today, when you read this text, a short message in, for example, the SEXNET Internet community frequented by hundreds of sexologists, explaining that your age information about puberty was "ill-considered" and that you are retracting that age information.

The consequences of delaying such information is your responsibility. Delays could lead to legal action, you may be liable for damages. Those affected may well consider claiming damages, alleging the false "pedophilia" and "hebephilia" diagnoses has brought about harm.

Incorrect information about age at the begin of puberty and about age in the Tanner stadiums

Michael Seto claims on p. 13 in the 2018 second and updated edition of his standard work,

• "Pedophilia and Sexual Offending Against Children" that the puberty of girls would start on average at 12 years: "but given that the average age of onset of puberty for girls is 12".

The American Psychiatric Association (APA) claims in its "pedophilia" definition, book published in 2013, "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders FIFTH EDITION DSM-5" on page 697, that prepubescents are generally 13 years or younger:

• "Over a period of at least 6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally age 13 years or younger)."

The journal, Archives of Sexual Behavior has published many articles on "pedophilia" and "hebephilia", according to which puberty would supposedly begin at the age of 11. For example, among others, Ray Blanchard and James Cantor wrote in the 2009 article "Pedophilia, Hebephilia, and the DSM-V" on page 336:

• "In summary, pubescent children are generally those from age 11 or 12 years to about 14 or 15; prepubescent children are those who are younger."

Michael Seto and Ray Blanchard write in several articles in the Archives of Sexual Behavior

• that "pedophilia" is the desire of "minors" in Tanner Stage 1 of pubertal development (prepuberty) and
• that "hebephilia" is the desire of "minors" in the Tanner stages 2 and 3 ("early puberty").

At the same time, they claim that

• "minors" at Tanner Stage 1 are typically up to 10 years old and
• "minors" at Tanner Stages 2 and 3 typically 11 to 14 years old.

As Ray Blanchard writes in the article "A Dissenting Opinion on DSM-5 Pedophilic Disorder" from 2013 on page 675:

• "Early pubertal children are children in Tanner Stages 2 and 3, which correspond generally to ages 11 through 14 years."

Michael Seto assigns in the article "The Puzzle of Male Chronophilias" of 2017 on page 3 of 20 in Table 1 the Tanner stages 2 and 3 the statement:

• "Pubescent children, approximately ages 11–14".

Based on these frequently repeated false declarations of age, sexologists around the world in their articles cite these incorrect ages for the Tanner stadiums.

Correct information about age at the begin of puberty and about age in the Tanner stadiums

There is a consensus in science that puberty is, and above all, a process of physical change. The age at the onset of puberty can not be declared at the desk's convenience, but results from the results of scientific studies about the onset of puberty.

Accoding to the mean of eight studies published since 1983, the girls reach the onset of pubertal growth spurt with an average of 8.7 years

• (see Zacharias et al. (1983); Berkey (1993); Kaczmarek (2002); Günther et al. (2011); Virani (2005); Mellion et al. (2013); Durda-Masny et al. (2019); Mao et al. (2011)).

About two and a half years later, girls reach the peak of the pubescent growth spurt (maximum velocity of growth), on average with 11.2 years according to the mean of eight studies

• (see Zacharias et al. (1983); Berkey (1993); Kaczmarek (2002); Virani (2005); Mellion et al. (2013); Durda-Masny et al.(2019); McCormack et al. (2017); Mao et al. (2011)).

As described, this situation did not prevent Michael Seto from claiming that girls' puberty would start (!) at age 12. The established sexual "science" is often a pseudo-science on the subject of "pedophilia", on which no court can rely uncritically.

According to the mean of 17 studies from 17 countries, girls achieve the beginning of Tanner stage 2 of pubertal breast development (B2) at 9.8 years (median 9.9 years)

According to the mean of six studies for the USA, the girls reach B2 with 9.7 years (median 9.8 years)

According to the mean of 12 studies from 12 countries, girls reach Tanner stage 4 of pubertal breast development (B4) at 12.8 years (median 12.5 years)

• (see Rabbani et al. (2008); Sun et al. (2012); Ireton et al. (2011); Jaruratanasirikul et al. (2014); Atay et al. (2011); Susman et al. (2010); Russo et al. (2012); Roelants et al. (2009); Aksglaede et al. (2009); Boyne et al. (2010); Codner et al. (2004); Bodzsar et al. (2015)).

According to the mean of three studies for the USA, the girls reach B4 at 12.7 years (median 12.7 years)

• (see Kozinetz (1991); Sun et al. (2002); Susman et al. (2010)).

In 2017, the author of this open letter for a meta-analysis sought using a systematic literature search regarding Tanner studies that determined the exact age at which Tanner stages were reached (not the mean age in the Tanner stadiums).

For girls born after about 1990 the following results were obtained (medians of country results in years):

• B2 9.8 -
• B3 11.2 -
• B4 12.5 -
• B5 14.2 -
• P2 10.8 -
• P3 11.9 -
• P4 12,7 -
• P5 14,4 -
• Menarche 12,7.

The girls are therefore on average aged 9 to 12 in the Tanner stadiums 2 and 3 and not 11 to 14 years. On average, at the age of 12, girls reach Tanner Stage 4, the final stage before reaching "full maturity". The Tanner Stage 5 of "full maturity" is reached by the girls on average at 14 years.

It is therefore wrong and unscientific to give the impression that 12-, 13- and 14-year-old girls would typically be at the beginning of puberty and at Tanner stages 2 and 3. 12-, 13- and 14-year-old girls are typically in the final stages of puberty or have already reached full physical "maturity".

If one sees the onset of the pubertal growth spurt (in the girls the first externally visible manifestation of the beginning of puberty, see Dorn, et al. (2006), p. 35) as the beginning of puberty of the girls, then the girls reach puberty according to the cited studies an average with eight years. Individually and (weaker) between countries, these values naturally vary considerably.

Reaching the Tanner Stage B2 is often considered in the scientific literature as the beginning of puberty. The author does not know of a single study published since the year 2000, which would have resulted in reaching the stage B2 at age 11 or later for the girls of an industrialized country. There is therefore no scientific basis for the claim that girls' puberty would start at 11 or 12 or 13 on average.

Emails from James Cantor (May 1th 2017) and Michael Seto (May 9th 2017) to the author show that their statements on the alleged age of "minors" in the Tanner stadiums are not based on a meta-analysis. Their false age should not be used by anyone.

Conclusions

The previous sexual "scientific" age preference classification is objectively wrong and must be fundamentally reconsidered.

“Pedophilia" is a mental construct that, like the Easter Bunny, only exists in the world of thoughts and not in reality. In reality, there is no "pedophilia", but only individual people who love and desire in a very individual way. When people are associated with the mental construct "pedophilia" this move is always a subjective and arbitrary decision. And of course, this decision does not change the fact that there is no "pedophilia" in reality, but only individual people who love and desire in a very individual way.

The sexual age preferences of men have a certain degree of normal distribution, so that any formation of age preference categories is inevitably subjective and arbitrary. Because of its extremely stigmatizing and often killing effect, sexology should consciously give up the current construct of "pedophilia" and replace it with the construct of "minor attraction".

If required, a preferred age range can additionally be specified. By doing so, no information would be lost, but the othering done by sexual science by using the pedophobic construct "pedophilia" would end.

Almost every person, at least in phases of his life, is sexually attracted to "minors". It seems that according to phallometric studies, the "normal" man is sexually atracted by older "minors" as strong or nearly as strong as by young adults

• (see Harris et al. (1996) and Marshall (1997)),

and more sexually attracted than by older adults.

This is why James Cantor, Michael Seto, Ray Blanchard and Kenneth Zucker probably belong to the group of people who are sexually attracted to "minors" ("minor"-attracted persons). It is totally normal to be sexually attracted to "minors". Almost every person is one of the ""minor" attracted persons". Sexology should honestly tell this the population.

If sexology changes from the othering and pedophobic conception of "pedophilia", which is based on false assumptions from the beginning, to the scientific concept of "minor attraction", this would presumably save many lives. Every single life saved speaks for this paradigm shift.

According to the average of five phallometric studies, 24% of "normal" men from the general population are sexually aroused more by "minors" up to about 13 years than by adults

• (see Byrne (2001); Fedora et al. (1992); Kolla et al. (2010); Marshall et al. (1986); Seto et al. (2000)).

So maybe there are far more "pedophilic" and "hebephilic" men than sexology currently suggests, based on insecure survey results.

Consider a speculative rollover and rough example calculation:

• If out of the world's approximately 3.5 billion male people, 10 percent would be "pedophilic" or "hebephilic" (= 350 million people)
• and if 5 percent of the "pedophilic" and "hebephilic" men would during their life try to commit suicide because of the discrimination of their sexual age preference (= 17.5 million people)
• and if every 30th suicide attempts leads to death,

then the mental disorder pedophobia would kill - unless there is a de-pathologization and decriminalization of the "minor" attraction - in the decades ahead, about 600,000 boys, male adolescents and men of the world population!

These people must not die and must be saved by us!
